ABOUT CHRIST FOR PRISONERS

Several ministers with a vision to reach the world with the Gospel came together on October 3, 1979 and out of that meeting came the ministry of Christ for Prisoners, Inc. The original Articles of Incorporation stated that our purpose was:

  1. To establish and to maintain a church and to provide a place of public worship and prayer in accordance with the original Greek and Hebrew scrolls and the King James Version of the Holy Bible as the sole basis of it’s teaching and doctrine, in the State of Colorado.
  2. To establish and to maintain and conduct a Correspondence School for religious instruction of imprisoned men and women.
  3. To found and continue a free church in the State of Colorado.

Some of the original founders will meet me at the Eastern Gate. Others have gone on to serve the Lord in others places. Christ for Prisoners’ vision remains the same as it was in 1979.

“In Things Essential Unity;
In Things Nonessential Liberty;
and In All Things Charity.”

Christ for Prisoners consider liberty of thought under the guidance of the Holy Spirit to be essential to Christian belief and practice. Therefore we encourage the unhindered study and open discussion of Scripture. We uphold the individual’s freedom of conscience in seeking to determine and obey the will of God.

Statement of Faith
  • We believe in one God - the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
  • We believe that the Old and New Testament Scriptures, given by plenary inspiration, contain all truth necessary to faith and Christian living.
  • We believe that man is born with a fallen nature, and is, therefore, inclined to evil and that continually.
  • We believe that the finally impenitent are hopelessly and eternally lost.
  • We believe that the atonement through Jesus Christ is for the whole human race; and that whosoever repents and believes on the Lord Jesus Christ is justified and regenerated and saved from the dominion of sin.
  • We believe that all believers should be santified wholly, through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.
  • We believe that the Holy Spirit bears witness to the new birth, and also to the entire sanctification of believers.
  • We believe that our Lord will return, the dead will be raised, and the final judgment will take place.
